Nikon Flatbed Scanners I Adore This Book. Is The Nikon Coolscan 9000ED Really That Good?

Is the Nikon Coolscan 9000ED really that good? - nikon flatbed scanners i adore this book.

I began to enjoy photography, but I found the quality Figital significant enough problems with my current scanner.

I only use medium format film for Figital. 9000ED is really much better than a flatbed scanner, such as Epson V750?

I know this is not the answer, but the information could be useful. I bought a Coolscan V ED. It is too small for his film, but I like it. Nikon at least one scan 35mm film in the ascending (including price) of this model form, but I have said, a comment that the model has already purchased a dynamic range of human perception, it is the - outside of the workflow and production - it was no reason on earth for all, not a commercial lab scanners for a "better" buy "as the V-ED Group is. The Coolscan 5000, the) add a dynamic range of 4.8 (units here and I think the V-ED is something like 4.2. The 5000 is analog to digital 16-bit and the V-ED uses "only" 14-bit.

If there are no similar models for less money (and I know) the market in order to compare the dynamics. If you look in the same order of magnitude as the V-ED, not about the little things.

I have the Epson V500 with good results.

I go to school check from time to time, has a black 8000ED and produce a digital conversions very well with my medium format slides.

To be sure, you, of course, run a test with some of his films in each. In some larger markets like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York you will find both scanners and can even demo.

I do not know many people who have access to these scanners have ... yes, I know of no person who has such access.

I think you can see the specifications of the two scanners, and use this information to compare to decide. Both Canon and Epson use first-class products from professionals around the world, so at least you know that the quality of build, is there.

I guess the $ 2000 Nikon scanners can have certain characteristics, V for 800 $ 750 no you.

Good luck
